Happy Summer (Sort Of)!
Okay, okay... technically it's not summer yet. But here in the American Southwest, the dog days are already barking! With daily highs soaring between 100°F and 113°F (38°C to 45°C), it feels like we've been tossed straight into the oven. Wherever you are, I hope you're finding a shady spot to unwind with your crochet.
Today is Customer Appreciation Day on the blog--one of my favorite traditions! I thought it'd be the perfect time to spotlight some amazing works-in-progress from our relaxed, sun-soaked Summer Crochet-Along (CAL). I love seeing how creative everyone is getting with their color choices and yarn pairings, and I cannot wait to see what you think of the next section, dropping this Thursday!

You can almost hear the sizzle of a lakeside grill and see kids chasing fireflies as the sun dips below the horizon.

🌇 Jennifer Cohen's blanket is a total showstopper. Her gradient yarn creates a radiant sunset effect, with glowing yellows that pop beautifully against the darker background. The vibe is pure golden hour magic--I'm dying to see what colors she adds next!

🍓 And then there's Nicole Wolf's delightful twist: her gradient yarn makes the strawberries look juicy and delicious! Paired with a bold black-and-white checkerboard, her blanket has retro diner charm. I'm imagining milkshakes, jukebox tunes, and lots of laughter with friends.
✨ Melanie Olson
🐝 Melanie Olson’s blanket is an absolute celebration of summer! From buzzing golden bees to bold red strawberries, every row bursts with personality. A crisp checkerboard stripe anchors the design, while leafy yellow vines weave everything together. It’s giving backyard garden meets countryside picnic—and we’re obsessed!
