Welcome back!
Can you believe it? Another year is coming to an end, and as always, I am so thankful that every single one of you is still here. I am incredibly grateful for your support this year and for the many wonderful ways you have allowed me to be part of your life.
Every time you share the beautiful work you’ve made using my patterns, it truly makes my day. I read all the Etsy and website reviews you leave, and I appreciate the heartfelt words and stories more than you know. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing me to do something I love.
I also want to give a huge thank-you to my testers, who work tirelessly to make sure every pattern is the best it can be before being released. I absolutely could not do this without you.
This year was a mix of challenges and rewards. As many of you know, the Little Green Feather team grew by one this year when my husband, Dominic, took over web design and several other areas of the business. I’ve really enjoyed working alongside him, and he has many plans to continue improving the templates and website in the coming year.
On a more personal note, we’ve been learning to adapt as our children get older. It gets a little easier every day having our eldest living on her own. Our youngest got his first job and became confident behind the wheel. We’re excited to see what the future holds for them.
I also dealt with some health issues this year and spent time in the hospital. Thankfully, everything turned out okay, and it was a good reminder to prioritize my health and slow down when needed. Taking time for myself—something I don’t always do—proved to be incredibly important.
Outside of work, I spent a lot of time container gardening, biking, and, of course, crocheting.
We also welcomed a couple of new family members. After adopting a neighborhood cat who had taken up residence on our porch, we soon brought home a companion for him. As someone who had never owned a cat as an adult, I’ve been surprised by just how different they are from dogs.
This year also brought a heartbreaking goodbye to our beloved dog, Chili Pepper, after 12 wonderful years with her.
Somewhere in the middle of it all, I completed another spin around the sun and turned 41.
And of course, Bowie turned 5 this year, proudly holding his role as company mascot and resident quality control.
Despite everything, I was able to publish 14 patterns this year. I had so much fun drawing and creating, with a strong focus on Southwestern themes and ghosts. I also explored more symmetrical designs—especially scrollwork and flowing, curved lines—and I’m excited to continue developing that style in the year ahead.
As we move into the new year, I want to thank you again for being here, for your kindness, and for your continued support. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead and can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on with you. Here’s to a new year filled with creativity, inspiration, and plenty of stitching time.
